Movie: The Amazing Spider-Man

Well, I finally had the chance to watch the movie. My anticipation and expectation is very high after many recommendations from friends who have watched it before me. And it doesn't let me down.

The Amazing Spider-Man is a story about a story about a kid who grows up looking for his father and finds himself.

Who doesn't know the story of Spider-Man? I seriously doubt there are one, unless you are too young to remember. But for the sake of this review, here it is. It is about a boy that got bitten by a spider and from that, he got superhuman power and grow to become the Amazing Spider-Man.

The movie took a different approach in delivering the story and while it may be a bit draggy for some, I felt that the approach suits me well. Seeing Peter growing to become the hero of many, is kinda entertaining.

Initially, we have Peter Parker who goes webbing around, catching criminals, not for the sake of the community but more of the revenge of his Uncle Ben that was killed by a small-time thief.

But when the main villain, the Lizard, first appear in the public, Spider-Man work his magic and eventually found the joy of helping others, and thus, becoming a real hero in the process.

The final battle between Spider-Man and Lizard on top of Oscorp is full of excitement. Spider-Man even got the help from an unlikely allies.

Acting-wise, I must says that Andrew Garfield brings out a very young and immature Peter Parker, which is very good, considering that Peter is still in his high school. Emma Stone is smart and lovely for her part as Gwen Stacy.

Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben is most noteworthy although he no longer said the famous "With great power, comes great responsibility".

The jokes that they made in the movie is well thought off. I really had a good laugh watching their attics, especially Peter Parker with his street-smart conversation here and there...
